Interesting growth for traditional toys market in Italy during the recent Christmas holidays. In the period from January to October 2016, in fact, sales of "traditional toys" have achieved a total turnover of 427.5 million euro (+ 8.9% over the same period in 2015) for a gross total of 37.6 million units sold (+ 6.8%), despite a slight increase in average retail prices (+ 2%). Good performance for licensed toys as well, inspired by famous brand or character: in the first 10 months of 2016, sales of "licensed toys" increased + 6.6% in value. These data were processed by NPD Group Retail Tracking Service Italy and circulated ahead of the Bologna Licensing Trade Fair (BLTF), the only Italian trade fair covering sales, events and highlights coming from the licensed world and focusing deeply on the development of products based on brands and property.
The BLTF 2017, the tenth edition of the event, is organized by BolognaFiere and will take place from 3 to 5 April 2017 in BolognaFiere fairground, together with the prestigious Bologna Children's Book Fair.
